Domain Editor Overview

Every domain has its own editor: one screen where the domain's web server, PHP, SSL, DNS, subdomains, databases, email and security all live as tabs. You reach it by clicking a domain row in the domain list, from the right-click menu, or from the dashboard's manage shortcuts.

The header card

A status card at the top identifies the domain: its name, a colored state badge (Active, Suspended, Pending or Config Error), plus contextual badges when relevant: Maintenance while maintenance mode is on, SSL when a certificate is active, and Protected when ModSecurity guards the domain. Creation and last-update dates sit on the right.

Nine tabs, hash navigation

The editor has nine tabs, in this order: General, Web Server, PHP, SSL, DNS, Subdomains, Databases, Email, Security. Each tab's content loads on demand, so the editor opens fast even though it covers everything.

The active tab is part of the URL as a hash (#php, #ssl, #dns...). That makes tabs linkable: the right-click menu on the domain list jumps straight to a specific tab this way, browser back/forward moves between tabs you visited, and a bookmarked link reopens the same tab.

Tabs follow your permissions

Tab visibility is permission-aware, not hardcoded per role: each tab is tied to its group of feature permissions, and a tab where you hold none of them simply is not rendered (the one exception is Email, which is always visible). With the default permission seed this produces real differences (roles and permissions): a RESELLER typically does not get the Web Server tab at all and gets a reduced Security tab, while a USER can change the PHP version but not raw configuration, and structural fields like document root, IP and cron on General are administrator-only. If you open a link to a tab you cannot see, the editor lands you on your first visible tab instead. What you can do inside a tab is filtered further by the individual permissions, which each tab's own page covers, and because these are editable an operator can widen or narrow any of it from Page Permissions.

Saving happens per section

There is no global save bar. Form cards carry their own Apply Changes button that activates only when that card actually has unsaved changes, while instant controls (switches and quick-action tiles) apply on the spot. Risky operations (a web server mode switch, a document root change, suspension, deletion) put a confirmation dialog in front of the action first. This keeps a change in one area from dragging unrelated settings along with it.

When things go wrong

While the domain loads you see a loading indicator; if the domain cannot be loaded (deleted, or an invalid link), the editor shows the error with a button back to the domain list. The whole editor sits behind the domains license feature.
